About me
From a young age, I have always been a passionate and determined individual. Knowing what you want can be a powerful thing.
I joined the military at 19, fresh out of high school, with no clear life plan. Coming from an estranged family, I had no guidance on what to do, where to stay, or even how to apply for college and financial aid. Basic Combat Training became an escape for me. The sit-ups? No problem. The push-ups? I improved. The running? I still hate it. But I was in peak physical shape, and I loved feeling strong and capable.
Shortly after enlisting, I got married and had my daughter. A few months after becoming a new mom, I started my fitness journey. At the time, I was in a difficult place mentally when it came to my body. I constantly picked apart my appearance in the mirror, criticized myself for feeling weak, and went on power walks without real dedication. I started working out at home with no equipment and a very clingy baby, but it was discouraging to see how much strength I had lost. I was also too self-conscious to walk into a gym.
In 2022, I fully committed to fitness. I joined the nearest gym and relied on what I knew—push-ups, sit-ups, and cardio. I used minimal equipment and focused on building my strength until I felt comfortable. Over time, I became a regular at the gym, and people started approaching me for fitness advice. However, I didn’t feel confident training others since I had only recently started my own journey.
Once I began seeing real progress, I decided to take the next step. I enrolled in the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) online program and earned my personal training certification. Since then, my journey has been an uphill climb, and I haven’t looked back.
Today, I serve full time in the U.S. Army as a supply sergeant, and I love this chapter of my life. Most importantly, I take pride in helping others along the way—and I will always continue to do so.
